Current Book
Cultural Odyssey of India: Ancient and Contemporary Expressions is an edited volume comprising twenty independently authored chapters. Each chapter has been written by its contributor(s) on the basis of their own research and understanding, and each has been conceived to speak directly to the central theme of the book. The chapters are arranged in five thematic parts — Ancient Foundations; Art, Architecture and Material Culture; Performing Arts, Language and Literature; Faith, Festivals and Regional Cultures; and Contemporary Expressions — so that the reader may move from the roots of Indian civilisation to its present-day manifestations.
The book is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, teachers of history, culture, literature, art and tourism studies, heritage professionals, and all readers who are curious about India’s cultural journey. We have tried to keep the language accessible while maintaining academic rigour, and each chapter carries its own notes and references for further reading.
